The Start of a New Season

Wayne Taylor Racing No. 45 Lamborghini GTD

The 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona kicked off another year of high-stakes endurance racing in classic Florida fashion—humid air, massive crowds, and cars designed to push the limits of speed and engineering. Over the course of four days, I documented not just the racing, but the full experience: the chaos, the quiet, the human emotion, and the poetry of motion under ever-changing light.

High-Speed Drama: On Track and On the Edge

Every time the field thundered into Turn 1, there was a moment of controlled chaos. This year’s GTP battle between Porsche Penske and Cadillac Racing delivered just that—down to the final hours.

The Pit Lane: Where Seconds Are Lives

One of the most visually intense places during any endurance race is the pit lane. Teams flow like choreographed chaos: drivers swapping, tires flying, tools clanging, and every second measured.

Light, Shadow, and the 24-Hour Story Arc

There’s nothing quite like the Rolex 24 when it comes to photographing transitions. From the harsh mid-day light to the dreamlike glow of dawn, it’s a playground for any photographer who worships light.

Final Thoughts

This was my fifth time photographing the Rolex 24 professionally, and each year brings new creative challenges. Whether it’s finding new ways to use light, staying present through the long hours, or refining how to tell stories that feel intimate in a high-octane world, the goal remains the same: make timeless work.
